Don't worry if this feels confusing — we'll walk through it together, one step at a time. My laptop does not require any password when I close the screen and does not open to any lock screen, it just goes straight to the desktop. The only time it opens with the lock screen or requires password/fingerprint is when I restart manually through the power settings.
